More Exclusive Photos of the Navy's X-47B UAV

The U.S. Navy just completed the inaugural test flights of its second X-47B, and PM got more new photos of this futuristic UAV. By Andrew Moseman

The size of a strike fighter but with no need of an on-board pilot, the X-47B is vying to be the U.S. Navy's next great warplane. In February 2011, the Navy completed the first test flight with its demonstrator. Last week, the second X-47B took to the skies over Edwards Air Force Base in California. The second plane is called AV-2, and it reached 5000 feet in altitude during its half-hour test flight, the Navy says.
