We've already shown you how to use Arduino to make a video doorbell system, MP3 jukebox, and TV commercial volume limiter, but this RC car is a fun first project to get you on your way to tackling more complex designs.
Tolik777's Instructables walkthrough provides the details, but basically you're strapping an Arduino controller with a motor driver and Bluetooth receiver to an old RC car chassis, and controlling it with an Android app. Once you're all set up, you'll be able to control the vehicle's direction and speed by tilting your Android device, which sounds way more fun than any RC car I grew up with.
If you want to know more about Arduino, our beginner's guide has a bunch of other simple projects and walkthroughs to get you started.
