Jack White, Foo Fighters, Stevie Wonder, Skrillex and Metallica top the bill for the fifth annual Outside Lands festival, set for August 10-12 in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.
Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Beck, Sigur Ros, Big Boi and more are also set to appear at the fest, along with a host of bands shaking the rust off from their lengthy breaks — Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand, Regina Spektor, Grandaddy (!) etc — and hotly tipped newcomers like Alabama Shakes, Of Monsters and Men and Yellow Ostrich.
Want even more? OK, how about the Kills, Die Antwoord, Fun., the Walkmen, Justice, and Explosions in the Sky?
All in all, Outside Lands organizers announced more than 60 bands for the bill — with more set to be revealed in the coming weeks. Tickets for the fest will go on sale Thursday at noon PT through SFOutsideLands.com, and a portion of every ticket sold directly benefits San Francisco's Recreation and Park Department. Oh, and in keeping with grand tradition, this year's fest also boasts a huge selection of food and wine options, so you can get your locally sourced, totally organic buzz on while watching Norah Jones. Oddly fitting.
Since launching in 2008, Outside Lands has hosted a who's who of top-tier talent (Radiohead, Pearl Jam, the Kings of Leon), with last year's fest being headlined by Muse, Phish and the Arcade Fire.
