Kevin Walter will start opposite Andre Johnson on Sunday despite a lackluster preseason. We break down the fantasy implications.
Sep 6, 2012 - Kevin Walter is still the No. 2 receiver on the Houston Texans, quarterback Matt Schaub assured the Houston Chronicle, despite a lackluster preseason in which he caught just one pass for nine yards. Rookies Keshawn Martin and Lestar Jean were more productive, catching eight and seven passes, respectively.
Analysis: Walter will start opposite Andre Johnson on Sunday, and thus has to be considered the Texans' next best fantasy option in the receiving corps. That said, Martin and Jean were very impressive in the offseason, and are expected to rotate at the third wide receiver spot, if not spell Walter from time-to-time. Walter is a fringe bench option in standard leagues, and has some value in deeper leagues. Coming off a season in which he caught a five-year low 39 passes, you hopefully don't have to rely on him for consistent weekly production.
