It?s been a hell of a time for the media.? Each news bulletin has unveiled new layers of subterfuge, bullying, corruption and scandal.? The effect of these revelations on young people is twofold ? firstly, the healthy repercussion, is that to a certain extent the people rose up and revolted against appalling journalistic practise that performed ?cruel and unusual punishments? on its victims.? The second, more worrying effect is that it reinforces the ?what?s the point? apathy that afflicts young people to the extent that they feel disenfranchised from the political system and society in general.? If every layer of society from the government and police downwards is untrustworthy in its dealings internally as well as with the public, then what would entice a first time voter to want to collude with such a system?
