Personal Finance Mentor ? Dr. Zena Cook | International Business

The International Business Department is launching a new mentorship program designed for students in need of a strategy to finance their study abroad trip or Graduate School.?? Dr. Zena Cook, an economist and former professor, is generously volunteering her time to help any student looking for guidance.? She will us her professional expertise to give each student customized advice and an action plan.
Dr. Cook is interested in performing either of two roles:

(1) Helping students make choices among alternative ways to reach their goals? by helping them to define paths and analyze them. The purpose of this role is to suggest a process by which the student can make a more informed decision about the future and reduce their uncertainty.

(2) Help those students who are on a path that appears to be less than optimal. For example, they may have accumulated a lot of debt and need practical ways of reducing that debt while continuing along a chosen path. The purpose here is to help students find ways to return to a more viable long term path than they are currently.

Both roles would involve personal interviews to identify alternative paths and to determine any information/data needed. She would use the tools of financial analysis to help analyze the data, quantifying the different paths if possible.? After doing such an exercise, a different set of alternatives may now be chosen.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity, whcih you are rarely offered. If you believe you would benefit from this, send an email to snjezanaborak@u.boisestate.edu, our IB Peer Advisor, so that she may facilitate a meeting between you and your mentor.

Students, take advantage of this immediately,?Dr. Cook?will only be available until February 20th.
